Carla Jane Wade

Carla Jane Wade

Choreographer and Dance Coach

Carla began dancing at the age of three and it has been her true passion ever since.

She trained at Spotlight Theatre dance school in Sheffield and it was here that she discovered that she not only loved to dance but that she found immense pleasure in passing on her passion to others, when she became a student teacher at the school.
Carla studied dance at both GCSE and A Level before persuing her dance career at University, studying a BA Hons degree in Dance and Education Studies at DeMontfort University, Bedford.
Carla has performed in a wide variety of theatres over the years, for a range of local companies. She has performed at the Montgomery Theatre, The University Drama Studio, The Crucible and The Lyceum in Sheffield; in musicals such as Carousel, We will Rock You, Little Shop of Horrors, 42nd Street, Jesus Christ Superstar, A White Christmas, West Side Story, Grease, Our House and Legally Blonde to name but a few. Even now, Carla remains a commited dancer and performer and loves the opportunity to perform.
Whilst Carla still loves to perform she also gets great pleasure from teaching others and has worked as a choreographer for many years for a number of local societies including Woodseats MTC, Splinters MTC and, most recently, Southey MTC. However, having worked with Reach from day one, it is here, with us, where she finds the most joy in teaching her passion to others. To watch the students grow, improve and gain enjoyment from her dance classes gives her the greatest sense of achievement and pride. Here’s to the next 10 years and the next generation of Reach students who will be the reason for the tears of pride at the back of the auditorium come show week.
